My husband and I left Japan for Hawaii to take part in my son's wedding on May 14. My son and his wife aren't Christians, but she had eagerly wanted to hold a wedding ceremony in Hawaii and enjoyed their honeymoon there. They started to plan that last summer, and finally their dream came true. Congratulations! When I first heard about their plan, I was unwilling to go because I used to connect Hawaii with Waikiki Beach, and Waikiki Beach with young people. Sorry, my son. Sad to say, my connection was too simplistic, and now I think it was a fruitful trip. Workers I met in Oahu island were from Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Hawaii and from various other countries. They were fulfilling their duty. And the security was good, too. My husband liked the trees in Hawaii with their different aspects from the ones in Japan, and he wanted to draw them. And he liked the bright sunshine, too. That reminds me!I didn't care about protecting myself from the sun there, though I do in Japan. The biggest news was that we saw the Monkey pod, whose other name is "The tree of Hitachi" or "Kono ki nanno ki," which is famous as the song of Hitachi group's TV commercial. It is in Moanalua Garden Park. It was probably sick because the leaves weren't thick. I hope it recovers soon. Hey, my son, be happy with your dear wife!
